Vector Art and the Celts, the Middle Ages
and further delights
DAY 1 - 2 February 2011
y idea for this website came to my mind while learning medieval art on my own.
I created non-solo-arte.com around my interests (including bamboo rod making and fly fishing) but I noticed I kept going back to the Middle Ages, Dante's Divina Commedia and the spirituality of those days...

In the process of deepening myself into manuscripts and apocalyptic dragons, I decided to learn Illustrator as well in order to make stencils for my airbrush exercises.
In one word, vector art.
What is vector art? Well, it's using mathematics to draw. It's not that many people feel the maths, but I see it in this way. More exactly, it' is using a graphic software such as Illustrator to make logos, pictures, even very realistic photo-like, hyper-realistic images that can easily magnified or reduced without loosing the sharpness of the original image.
Illustrator combines mathematics and drawing. I like both.

Later on, I wrote articles on middle ages images, bestiary, the meaning of colors and symbols in the Middle Ages.
At one point, around Christmas, I also made free christmas stencils and other free downloadable clip art.
A further step was to learn how to paint and draw digitally with a wacom tablets.
Summarizing, I had fun while exploring a little bit more about history (I am also interested in the History of the Church by the way) and digital creations.

Combining vector graphics and history while showing my discoveries with Adobe illustrators and other graphics software is what this website is all about.
So here is my vector art,and here are my illustrator tutorials.
I am also preparing some pages with general free vectors and a selection of copyright free vector art ND images to download.
And if there is a "fil rouge" - a common thread relating all my interests - this is to provide free ornamental vector art.
I hope you will enjoy it! In the end, my objective is to make mister-vector.com on of the best free vector art sites of the web!
